Mandy McLaren is an award-winning education reporter based n Louisville, KY.

She currently covers PK-12 education for the Courier Journal.

Her work has appeared in The Washington Post and USA TODAY.  Mandy has a master's degree in investigative journalism from American University, as well as bachelor's degrees in broadcast journalism and political science from Boston University.

Mandy returned to journalism in 2016 after working in New Orleans public schools as both a teacher and an administrator.

Mandy grew up in Athol, Mass., where both of her parents were public school teachers. She is a New England sports fan by birth, but "Who Dat Nation" has her heart.
